The special nitrogen generator for food preservation is designed to meet the needs of food packaging, fruit and vegetable air conditioning warehouses and other industries. The TY series of small food nitrogen generators are designed. This equipment has the characteristics of reliable operation, convenient and quick start up, and fast nitrogen production. The equipment also has the advantages of compact structure, small floor space, convenient movement, low energy consumption, low operating cost, high degree of automation, convenient operation and maintenance, and no special foundation. It is a more mature and stable technical method in the current gas separation technology.

The role of nitrogen in food packaging

Nitrogen-filled packaging is rapidly replacing the traditional vacuum packaging in fried food, puffed food, baked food, freshly sliced agricultural products, special cheese and fresh meat packaging. Nitrogen-filled packaging can better maintain the taste and nutrition of food. 

The deterioration of food is mostly caused by the oxidation reaction with the participation of O2, it promotes the reproduction of microorganisms and bacteria, which leads to the deterioration of food. 

Nitrogen-filled packaging can play a good role in protecting the shape of the food inside, and prevent crisp and fragile food from being crushed. It can prevent the packaged food from being bonded together under pressure due to the imbalance of internal and external pressure, so as to harden its texture. 

Nitrogen-filled packaging can reduce the deterioration of food due to the damage of packaging materials caused by surface folding. 

Nitrogen passes through the filter for removing bacteria and dust, which can better prevent food from mildew, softening by water vapor and so on.


Pressure swing adsorption 

Pressure swing absorption nitrogen generation is a high-techfor separating nitrogen from the air (PSA) . The QT series nitrogen generator is based on the principle of pressure swing absorption, using purified air as raw material and food-grade carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent. The diffusion rate of nitrogen and oxygen in the molecular sieve micropore is different, oxygen expansion rate is fast and preferential adsorption, nitrogen is enriched in the air box, and nitrogen can be produced at room temperature.


Process explanation

The PSA nitrogen generator adopts a double absorption tower structure, mainly composed of two AB adsorption towers equipped with carbon molecular sieve and a control system. When the compressed air passes through the A tower, oxygen is absorbed by the carbon molecular sieve, and nitrogen can flow.When the molecular sieve in Tower A is saturated with adsorption, it will automatically switch to Tower B for the above adsorption process and  regenerate Tower A at the same time. The regeneration is the process of removing the gas in the adsorption tower to make the pressure quickly drops to normal pressure, so that the oxygen adsorbed by the molecular sieve is released from the adsorption tower. One tower absorbs and produces nitrogen, and one tower desorption regeneration emptying. The valve action is controlled by the controller to realize the alternating gas production between the two towers.
